Yard of the Month: 2833 Attaberry
September 12 @ 8:00 am - September 30 @ 5:00 pm
Congratulations to the Brannon family at 2833 Attaberry, our September Yard of the Month winners.
Jason and Kristi Brannon have lived on Attaberry since the spring of 2010. They bought their house partially-finished, with the landscaping fitting into the “yet to be completed” category.
The yard had gone untouched for months when they moved in, with the only real redeeming feature being a large, construction-ravaged Magnolia in the corner of the backyard. They hired a landscaper and soon had a yard with some color… knockout roses and hydrangeas in the front; more roses, azaleas and other flowering shrubs in the back.
The roses have been awesome, with blooms at multiple times spring through fall and very little upkeep in the process. Their favorites, though, may be the Japanese maples in the front and back.
The backyard design was centered around the old magnolia, which unfortunately they recently lost due to a beetle infestation. The Brannons are big wildlife fans so JAson, Kristi, and their 6-year old son, Emmett, love to sit out back or on the front porch and watch the birds, especially the hummingbirds that flock to their beds.
“We love the neighborhood and are excited to have neighbors who take as much pride in their yards as we do,” Jason said.
