PMNA Pet Station Project
June 1 @ 8:00 am - September 1 @ 5:00 pm
PMMA is working to make our neighborhood more dog friendly by having waste stations installed throughout Plaza Midwood.
Earlier this year, we surveyed neighbors, and the response was overwhelmingly in favor of the project — with more than 75 percent of respondents suggesting they’d love to see the stations in the neighborhood. We’ve also lined up a number of area merchants to sponsor each station, ensuring that weekly maintenance will be handled by professionals — i.e. no clean-up necessary!
Initial plans will create between 8 and 12 stations spread strategically throughout the neighborhood. After considering our survey results and speaking with neighbors, the map below shows the areas we’d most like to place stations.
We also plan to have our garden group and others work on beautifying the stations, too — adding flowers, art, decorations and more.
Obviously these stations won’t solve the problem of dog waste being left in neighbors’ yards completely, but we’re hopeful that by making it more convenient for pet owners to clean up and making the message more visible to all neighbors, we’ll at least reduce the problem by a significant amount.
If you’re interested in learning more about the project, interested in sponsoring a station or would be willing to host a station on your property, we’d love to hear from you. Email us at email@example.com.
