Midwood Gives Back
October 6 @ 1:00 pm - October 14 @ 12:00 pm
UPDATE: Due to Hurricane Florence, Midwood Gives Back has been rescheduled.
Midwood Gives Back is like the GrubHub of charity… it couldn’t be any easier.
PMNA and other Plaza Midwood neighbors will be collecting donations for three nonprofit organizations doing good work in the Charlotte community on Saturday, Sept. 22, and all you have to do (aside from volunteering to help!!!) is leave your donations on your front porch.
Approximately one week before Midwood Gives Back, you will find a paper bag on your doorstep where you can leave donations for Second Harvest Food Bank, Shamrock Elementary and the Humane Society.
What to put in that bag:
1. Second Harvest Food Bank – Canned goods and non-perishable food items.
2. Shamrock Elementary School – School supplies.
3. Humane Society, a non-profit animal rescue and sanctuary – Pet food and or supplies.
On the day of Midwood Gives Back, simply leave your bag of items on your front porch or stoop, and a group of volunteers will come by to collect your items. If you forget to put your items out that day, contact us and we will come to collect them.
But, while donations are easy, we will need help both handing out and picking up bags, so please mark your calendars for Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 to join your neighbors for a morning of volunteer activity!
To sign up to volunteer for bag pick up or drop off. Email PMNA’s Randy Podosek at email@example.com or Midwood Baptist Church paster Garry Baldwin at firstname.lastname@example.org to let them know you can help.
On Sunday, Sept. 23, the great folks at Midwood Baptist Church also are inviting all neighbors and volunteers out for a Sunday service focused on community, followed by a BBQ lunch. More info below.
