When Mark and Jeanie were looking for an alternative to their Cotswold townhome, they visited some friends on Belvedere, fell in love with Plaza Midwood— and were hooked. In a seller’s market with properties moving so quickly, it was a bit nerve wracking coordinating the sale of their townhome, which sold right away, the purchase of a new home—and then within a week, they found the perfect spot!

They were able to purchase this new construction early enough in the process to have some choice in the finishes, including the quartz counters and farmhouse sink. A few upgrades were added as well—a patio heater and built-in television behind sliding barn doors on the back deck.

One of the biggest selling points of the home for the Vande Guchtes was the dog friendliness of the design. Not only is it right next to the park, but it came complete with a dog room built into a nook under the stairs. Mark and Jeanie volunteer and foster for Bullies 2 the Rescue, and they knew their bulldogs would fit right in. They even added a built-in custom dog bowl feeding station to match the kitchen counters and tile backsplash.

Besides all the custom canine designs, look for the refinished antique vanity passed down from Jeanie’s great-grandmother and another barn door in the master bedroom. Jeanie gets most of her inspiration from Pinterest and Mark brings her vision to life when tools are required.
